Security Policy

Last updated: July 29, 2026

Genny is committed to protecting the security of our platform, our sellers, and our customers. This Security Policy explains the technical and administrative safeguards we maintain to protect data processed through our marketplace.

Our Infrastructure

Genny's marketplace runs entirely on Shopify, an enterprise-grade cloud commerce platform. We do not operate our own physical servers. Shopify's infrastructure is hosted on hyperscale cloud providers, including Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services, at data centers built to Tier 3/Tier 4 standards with redundant power, cooling, and network systems.

Payment Security

Genny does not store or process raw credit card numbers or banking credentials on our own systems. All payment processing, cardholder data, and seller payouts are handled by Shopify Payments and its integrated, PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant payment gateways.

Data Backups and Continuity

Because our platform runs on Shopify's cloud infrastructure, data is automatically and continuously backed up using cloud-native snapshotting and database replication across multiple geographically distributed availability zones. Backups are stored securely online and are isolated from local network access. We also maintain point-in-time recovery tools for our own marketplace configuration and seller listing data.

Access Controls

We enforce multi-factor authentication (MFA) across our business email accounts, our Shopify administration panel, and any third-party tools used to manage the platform. Access to seller and customer data is limited to personnel and contractors who need it to do their work, and any freelance contributors we engage (for example, for front-end design work) do not have access to core databases, source code, or financial data.

Encryption

Data is encrypted both in transit and at rest through Shopify's infrastructure, which operates under SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 security frameworks.
