Welcome to Genny

Think of Genny as your modern-day general store, sans the questionable stale candy. Genny was built to celebrate and support women-founded and independent brands — helping you shop local, shop small, and find gifts (for yourself or someone else) that are as special as the people behind them.

Fair, Transparent Fees

No hidden charges. No pay-to-play promotion schemes. We keep fees simple and fair so your business can grow.

Our Idea

Genny is an online general store built for real creators—not algorithms. If you’re a maker, artist, or creative soul with something special to share, you’re in the right place. Here, New England’s best small-batch and handmade goods shine—and sellers like you get the support, visibility, and community you actually deserve.

Our Start

It all started in 2017, when we founded Boston Women’s Market with a simple goal: to create space for women-founded small businesses to share their stories and sell their goods. As our community grew, so did our mission — and Genny is the next chapter. It’s our way of evolving, adapting, and finding new ways to uplift the creatives who inspire us every day.

Our Values

We created Genny to give makers, artists, and small biz dreamers a better way to grow. Our vendor community needed more than just a place to sell — they needed support, visibility, and fair treatment. So we built a marketplace that puts them first. That means affordable vendor fees, no surprise costs, and zero pressure to pay for ads just to be seen. We’re not here to squeeze — we’re here to support.
